Together the 13 Songs and Dubs on this Reggae Album were originally recorded to Vinyl and have since been digitally mastered and compiled by the owner Pat Alexander of Eastern Music which is based in Ipswich, Suffolk. Several of these tracks were played on the David Rodigan Show when David was at Capital Radio and hit the Black Echoes Charts at the time. Pat Alexander can be found at; International House. Coming Soon - "New Release" - "Alton Ellis"
www.reggae.me.uk will be featuring an article on an artist/song periodically. Today's artist/song featured article is a little bit about Alton Ellis.
Alton Ellis was born in 1938 and grew up in Kingston's Trench Town district. Born into a musical family, he learned to play piano at a young age.[6] He attended Ebeneezer and Boys' Town schools, where he excelled in both music and sport.[7] He initially sought fame as a dancer, competing on Vere Johns' Opportunity Hour.[8] After winning a couple of competitions, he switched to singing, starting his career in 1959 as part of the duo Alton & Eddy with Eddy Perkins.[(With thanks to Wikipedia)
